Cylindrical

Cylindrical Image

A cylindrical robot is made up of a primary arm that moves up and down. The arm contains a cylinder that creates this motion by extending and retracting itself. The arm's rotation is generated by gears and a motor, and the cylinder converts this rotation into vertical motion for the arm.

Cylindrical robots are particularly useful when you're working with objects that need to have rotational symmetry around their longitudinal axes, such as metal cylinders, straight wires, and straight pipes.

Cylindrical robots are commonly used in:

  • spot welding
  • die-cast machine handling
  • general machine handling tools
  • grinding processes
  • palletizing
  • assembly operations

It can be difficult to know what robots are best for you without knowing what is out there.
