Communication & Networks
Communication networks are the backbone of your automation. They provide you with a powerful means for controlling and exchanging data, the flexibility to connect your various devices, and the ability to improve end-to-end digital signal accuracy and integrity.
Each communication network is made up of control systems and networked systems.
Control systems distribute communications and commands in the form of information packets to various components across a network.
Networked systems deliver information from sensors that acquire information, to controllers that provide decisions and commands. Then that information is sent to actuators that give commands.
Networks include three main types:
- Fieldbuses or industrial network protocols for real-time distributed control,
- Ethernet or local area networks
- Wireless networks, such as Bluetooth
Each of these networking options eliminates unnecessary wiring and other costs for the design and implementation of control systems.
