Are there any known applications of multi-axis robots for high pressure water /chemical wash systems, such as surface preparation of metal for painting?
KMT Robotic Solutions has significant experience removing coatings and paint using high pressure water. We have actual applications that we can review with you.
In addition, we can review your situation, run tests to determine the correct process and design a complete system around your specific needs. You can choose the robot brand you prefer to work with and we will engineer a complete system solution.

What is the best approach for addressing flash and sprue trimming of rubber from a part coming from an injection mold? Will complient tooling on a robot do the job? Are there any specialists in the field?
KMT Robotic Solutions has extensive experience trimming plastic, composite, fabric and other soft parts. We have a Process Solution Center full of equipment that we can use to test the right process trimming your particular material. I am preparing an application for deburring alum die casting part. The flashing can go 20mil to 50 mil. What will be the best tool and spindle to use for that kind of application, and will a FANUC 710ic50 with handling software do the job? Regards
Martin - KMT has lots of experience utillizing FANUC robots for routing and deburring applications. We can demonstrate capability to you in our Process Solution Center so that you can be sure about the type of tool that should be used and the quality and throughput that are achievable. We can also implement a complete system for you that takes advantage of lots of features that the FANUC robot offers combined with KMT software, saving you lots of money in the near and longer term. Is it possible adapt an old ABB S3 or S2 Controller for a mill system? If so, which software is needed?
Hi Ros - I see that your question has been posted for awhile without answer. Using older equipment for milling can be a challenge depending upon the performance tolerance you're trying to achieve. Perhaps if you clarify the type of tolerance you'd like to get you'll get more feedback. Old robot to us sounds like a tolerance problem waiting to happen. KMT does have a software product that we call CAMpro that allows users to create tool paths in CAM and then translate those tool paths to run on FANUC or ABB robots. But we only have worked with more recent robot controller models and robot arms that haven't been used for already for a long period of time.
