What is the best approach for addressing flash and sprue trimming of rubber from a part coming from an injection mold? Will complient tooling on a robot do the job? Are there any specialists in the field?
Jay, you could use a hard tool or an abrasive belt to remove the flash and a compliant tool could help as well. Send me some application photos and/or an unfinished part and I can evaluate it to make a recommendation. Contact Scott Kilpatrick at Acme Manufacturing, kilpatricks@acmemfg.com or phone 248-393-4209
I am looking at the idea of using a robot for grinding cast iron parts and want to know what is the standard for this; like taking the part to the grinding wheel or taking a wheel the the part.
John, typically we like to take the part to the grinding wheel but if you send me some application photos and/or an unfinished part, I can evaluate it further to make a recommendation. Contact Scott Kilpatrick at Acme Manufacturing, kilpatricks@acmemfg.com or phone 248-393-4209
I am preparing an application for deburring alum die casting part. The flashing can go 20mil to 50 mil. What will be the best tool and spindle to use for that kind of application, and will a FANUC 710ic50 with handling software do the job? Regards
Martin, your application to deburr alum die cast flashing should not be a problem. Can you send me some application photos and/or an unfinished part, I can evaluate it further to make a recommendation. Contact Scott Kilpatrick at Acme Manufacturing, kilpatricks@acmemfg.com or phone 248-393-4209
